Facebook offers a function that allows you to watch videos together on the social medium: Facebook Video Party. When you start such a party, the video stream is equalized for all viewers, so that you watch the same images at the same time.
This is a very useful feature for several reasons. For the time being, we are still dealing with a pandemic, which means that we all have to stay at home as much as possible. And so you can do something together. You can also watch movies and series on Disney + in the same way. In addition, it is nice to share certain videos with friends and family who live far away. So you can also make use of this after the pandemic.
This is how Facebook Video Party works
If you want to start a Facebook Video Party, you can do that from your news feed or timeline. At the top, click on the text next to your profile picture. Then click on the three dots that are now on the screen and choose the option there Video party from. Now you have to choose a video or select a category (such as For you, Watched and Live). Within a category you will see many more videos. Now select the videos you want to watch and then press Next one.
If you want to add a description to your Facebook Video Party, you can do so in the next screen. Did you do that or do you not want to do that, you can press the button Place to press. If you have done everything correctly, a message will appear on the screen: “Your video party is about to start”. Once the video party is set up, you can add your friends or family members. This way you watch videos together.
Once you’re in a Facebook Video Party, you can do a number of things. You can add videos by pressing the appropriate button on the right. Your selected videos will then end up in the queue. You can invite additional friends by pressing the share button. You can also add comments by clicking at the bottom right Write something… to push. This way you can chat together while watching. In addition, it is possible to use stickers and emoji in that chat.
Stop video party
Do you want to end the Facebook Video Party? No problem. You click on the three dots at the top right and then on End video party > To end > Ready.
After the video party ends, a message will be created and saved to your timeline. In this post, you can see all watched videos and all posted comments. This is also the place where you can watch the video party again if you wish.
