Audi carries out a facelift on its smallest crossover, although you really have to put the old Q2 next to the revised version to see the differences. Yet some things have been changed!
It is 2016 when Audi launches the Q2, a little brother of the then current Q3. In 2020, the Q2 may blow out four candles. Time for a facelift, although Audi works quite modestly at the points of the crossover. From the outside, the refreshed Q2 can mainly be recognized by its modified headlights, which are now always equipped with LED technology and which can optionally be equipped with LED matrix viewers. Those who order the latter will receive dynamic turn signals in the LED rear lights. The redesigned front bumper and headlights are separated by a tighter crease than before. The higher positioned versions of the Q2 also get miniscule vertical bars between the hood and the grille, but it doesn’t seem to be as pronounced as with the A1 Sportback, for example.
C style
Audi gives the Q2 revised bumpers where the rear copy has an integrated diffuser. The tailgate is more striking. Just like on the side of the Q2, sharp folds have now been made. Other optical changes relate to the arrival of five new exterior colors. The C-pillar is available in body color, but also in gray, black or silver. The inserts on the sides are black on the basic version. Those who order the Advanced Line will receive gray copies, while the panels for the S-line are finished in body color.
MMI
The adjustments in the interior are quite sketchy. Audi adjusts the outlets of the ventilation grilles slightly and says it has also revised the gear lever of both the manual versions and the versions with S-tronic automatic transmission. Lovers of Alcantara will have to look elsewhere from now on, as the material will be replaced by Dinamica microfibre. The basic versions of the Q2 have an analog instrumentation and a simple MMI radio in the center console. Higher-positioned versions get a 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit and an 8.3-inch digital screen that accompanies the infotainment system.
Initially, Audi only parks a 150 hp and 250 Nm strong 1.5 TFSI on the engine list, which is joined by two TFSIs and two diesels. In any case, count on a 1.0 TSI and two 2.0 TDIs. Prices and specifications will follow in the run-up to the market launch. Later this month, the Dutch importer opens the order books.
