Facelift for Jeep Renegade

Facelift for Jeep Renegade

The Jeep Renegade has been in production since 2014 and so Stellantis has decided to give its now almost eight year old smallest crossover a facelift. The renewed Renegade will remain clearly recognizable as Renegade and will include digital instruments. However, do not immediately pull out your wallet.

It’s been almost eight years since Jeep entered the compact crossover segment with the Renegade. Strikingly chunky yet playful for its class, the Renegade debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014 and rolled off the production line for the first time in August. Just under eight years after its introduction, Jeep gives the Renegade a facelift. In Brazil.

Officially, the European branch of Jeep does not say a word about the renewed Renegade, but if it does come, you can now see what you can expect from the renewed crossover visually. The facelifted Renegade remains above all recognizable as Renegade and that is good news for those who can charm the appearance of the Renegade. The grille, built up of seven slots, could not but return as a Jeep feature, although the black mask around it has a different shape. At the bottom, the mask now follows the shape of the slots and that of the headlights, which in practice means that the grille just seems a size smaller than before. The headlights get a modified light signature and the front bumper of the Renegade is completely overhauled. Mind you, Jeep has so far shown the renewed Renegade in its toughest form: as a Trailhawk. Less adventurously dressed copies will of course deviate from this version.

More news? Secure. The Trailhawk trim visible in these photos has new exterior mirrors and the section of the roof between the windshield and rear window in black. That brings us to the rear of the Renegade, because there too Jeep uses the brush of innovation. The biggest news can be found at the rear lights. They retain their shape, but exchange their layout, which refers to a jerry can, for an adapted light signature with two C-shaped LED parts. We also find a new bumper at the rear of the Renegade.

Jeep also reports that it gives the Renegade a fully digital instrumentation, which is also a novelty for this model. Later we hope to be able to tell you more about the Renegade news for the European and therefore Dutch market.
