The Lynk & Co 01 is about to undergo a facelift. AutoWeek has surfaced the first photos of that visually updated crossover for you from the database of the Chinese Ministry of Transport and Information Technology.
The Lynk & Co 01 is by no means a veteran in Europe. Although the car was not introduced to the European public until 2020, parent company Geely already showed the production version in China in 2016. The car has been for sale in China since 2017 and after about five years, Lynk & Co thinks it is time for a facelift.
Lynk & Co supplies the 01 in Europe only with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, in China you can also get it with conventional petrol engines. The plug-in hybrid 01 also has exhaust pipes visible at the bottom of the rear, but that seems to change with the facelift of the model – at least in the home country of China. The plug-in hybrid variant of the revised Lynk & Co visible in these photos (photos 1 and 2) has concealed exhaust tailpipes.
That is of course not the only news. Lynk & Co gives the 01 new taillights. In general, not much seems to have changed, but a closer look sees that the vertical extensions on either side of the rear lights no longer have the striking ’round’ shape as with the original. A wide beam again runs across the entire width of the 01-bezel, but this time the lighting extends much further into the tailgate. The LED bar itself is made up of horizontal lines, which means that the light signature on the back is also new. At the front of the Lynk & C0 01 nothing seems to change.
