With the facelift, the Citroën C3 Aircross gets a new nose. The last reference to the Airbumps of yesteryear makes way for a nose that is much more ‘Cross’. That has nothing to do with the SUV capabilities, but everything to do with the look in his eyes.
Angry. Bad mood. Irritated. They are all synonyms of that different meaning of the word ‘Cross’ that car manufacturers love to put on their car to emphasize the tough character.
Well, the C3 Aircross has also understood the above meaning well. Its friendly, rounded muzzle gives way to a much more aggressive-looking front. Flatter LED headlights, a larger grille area with bold vertical elements and a ‘underguard’ instead of the old Airbump-like finish make the front of Citroën’s smallest SUV sleeker and more modern.
What could remain is the structure of two layers. In fact, the higher placed light units for daytime running light, sidelight and turn signal seem untouched, including the now somewhat outdated halogen lamp for the latter light function.
As is often the case with facelifts, the rear was slightly underexposed. The optional sticker work for the rear side window has a different shape and the light clusters look a bit darker, but that’s about it. Striking: those Airbump bulbs can stay on the rear bumper!
