The BMW 5 series gets a cosmetic procedure and the result is already published on the web at an early stage. Time for a round around the new 5-series, right?
It is already coming that BMW comes with a rejuvenation cure for the 5-series, because for almost a year there have been camouflaged prototypes driving around. From regular versions to a renewed M5: almost every variant has passed by in the spy photographer in packed form. Now, in all likelihood, it becomes clear what was hidden under that professional wrapping work. It is not always clear with leaked images whether they are official images, but with these leaked photos from the French Worldscoop we dare to say with reasonable certainty that they are real.
The recipe for the facelift seems clear. The renewed 5-series is brought in line with the rest of the family. In terms of nose, the model most closely resembles the more compact 3-series that has been driving around for about a year now. Take the flatter headlights and tight vertical lines to the lower bumper. The shape of the closed grilles on both sides of the front bumper also correspond to that of the 3-series. To make the cars at the front a bit different from each other, the 5 Series doesn’t get a shark fin snack at the bottom of the headlight; the 3 series does. The new layout of the otherwise virtually unchanged rear lights defines the rear view of the 5-series.
The flap at the left front wheel of the leaked 5-series further reveals that this is a plug-in hybrid: the 530e. For the inside, BMW could have the renewed infotainment system ready. The screen connects tighter to the rest. The current 5 series has been around since 2017. It probably won’t be long before the official reveal of the facelift.
