Google has published the Trusted Contacts app in the App Store. With this app you can easily share your location with family and best friends.
Trusted Contacts now also for iOS
Google has now made its Trusted Contacts app available for iOS. The idea behind this app is that you only add your most trusted contacts, such as family, your relationship and best friends. It is then always possible to find out the location of each other. Of course there are restrictions to this.
Suppose a family member wants to know your location to see if everything is going well, then they request this in the app. You will then receive a message on your iPhone. Are you all right? Then you press the button and the family member will not see your location. However, if you do not respond within a certain time, the app will automatically send your last saved location to that family member. This also works if your iPhone is offline or if the battery is empty.
It is also possible to share your location yourself with your contacts. For example, if you don’t feel safe, or if you need to be found in an emergency. If you like that others see where you are live, that is also possible. In the app you indicate that specific contacts can always see your location. This mode can of course also be switched on temporarily, for example if you go on a date with someone you don’t know well, or travel alone.
