Consumption and CO2 emissions up to 30 percent lower
Fiat 500 Hybrid and Panda Hybrid
Fiat introduces a new 1.0 three-cylinder engine in both the 500 and Panda. Partly due to the use of mild hybrid technology, consumption and CO2 emissions are reduced by up to 30 percent compared to the old 1.2 engine.
The two Fiat city cars, the 500 and Panda, get a new engine with mild hybrid technology. The 1.0 FireFly engine has a capacity of 70 hp and a pulling force of 92 Nm. The 12 Volt mild-hybrid system with smart dynamo switches off the three-cylinder engine at low load to limit fuel consumption. Fiat does not yet release figures, but promises that consumption and CO2 emissions will be reduced by up to 30 percent compared to the old 1.2 engine.
To celebrate the arrival of the new engine, Fiat comes with a Hybrid Launch Edition of both the 500 and the Panda Cross, the SUV version of the Panda. This special version can be recognized by the color “Verde Rugiada” and has seat covers made from recycled plastic waste.
The Fiat 500 Hybrid will be available from next month, the Panda Hybrid will follow in March. The prizes will be announced shortly.
