The Fiat 500X is certainly not the youngest anymore, but there is still quite big news: it will be in a convertible version.
The Fiat 500X was unveiled more than six years ago and was launched almost six years ago. After a facelift in 2018, it remained relatively quiet around the high-legged 500 family. Until now. Automotive News previously heard rumors that a 500X Convertible is coming and has now received confirmation from Fiat itself. An SUV with the looks of a retro little one was already quite a niche product, but it can always be crazier.
Apparently they looked at Volkswagen with an oblique eye when that brand came up with the equally remarkable open T-Roc and thought; why don’t we do something like that too? With the 500X you can at least still make the link to the car to which it owes its right to exist in a sense; the ordinary 500. There is of course also a Convertible and the 500X Cabrio looks the trick from that in terms of roof. This means that the body styles remain as they are and then there is a roll-up fabric roof in between. This year the canvas (and the roof) is expected to be removed.
