Fiat Ducato is getting another facelift

The third generation Fiat Ducato has been around for 17 years, but that does not mean that its retirement is close. This is evident from the fact that another facelift is being prepared.

For the unveiling of the current Fiat Ducato and its Peugeot and Citroën brothers Boxer and Jumper, we have to go back to May 2006. Yes, that was really over 17 years ago. The biggest buyers of those brands have been around for a long time and it is not over yet. This is evident from the fact that Fiat is now preparing a facelift for the Ducato.

In 2014, the Fiat Ducato received a major facelift, just like its French brothers, and it seems that Fiat still largely believes the approach it took was the right one. The upcoming facelift of the Fiat Ducato will be one of the more modest kind. Expect a slightly different grille layout, which may also be framed slightly differently than is currently the case. The rear remains unchanged.

We see a slightly bigger change in the interior. From now on you will find a new digital instrument there. It remains to be seen how Fiat will complete this further, because the ‘canopy’ now looks a bit strange. Furthermore, the conventional automatic transmission lever disappears. From now on you can choose the direction of travel (with a version with automatic transmission or with the electric E-Ducato) with a rotary knob. The changes in the interior will probably also apply to the Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Jumper and the later Opel Movano. Whether they will also get an exterior refresh remains to be seen.
