Fiat Panda 4x4 Niels van Roij

The primal Panda is one of those models that manages to arouse no sympathy with only a few. The iconic small Fiat has been refurbished in a special way by friend-of-the-show Niels van Roij Design.

The first generation Fiat Panda came on the market 43 years ago and lasted 23 years in the Netherlands. In 2003, the angular but cuddly Panda had to leave the field, so used copies are now often quite old and more than once not so fresh. Niels van Roij Design, together with Kaeve Cars, has a so-called resto mod of the primal Panda prepared. Not just any Panda served as a basis, but the Panda 4×4. This is the Fiat Panda 4×4 Piccolo Lusso.

The Fiat Panda 4×4 Piccolo Luso is painted in the color Azzurro Blu, according to Niels van Roij Design a color that “[…] harks back to the allure of the azure blue water that adorns the picturesque Italian coasts.” The designer knows how to tell this beautifully. The interior is of course just as Spartan as that of the original, but is finished with materials that you can certainly find at Fiat. could not get in the Panda. We notice leather trim on the door panels, the seats, the dashboard, the steering wheel and the sun visors. The furniture is not completely covered with leather. For example, parts of the front seats and the middle part of the rear seat upholstered in fabric with woven squares.

Fiat Panda 4×4 Piccolo Lusso

The Fiat Panda 4×4 Piccolo Lusso started life as a Panda 4×4 Sisley and has been allowed to keep its badges depicting a dude in a canoe. You even encounter more of it than in the original. We also observe the water-sporting gentleman on the headrests, in the door panels and on the steering wheel. More striking details? Certainly. Exterior parts such as the side mirrors, moldings, bumpers, door handles and even the push button on the tailgate are in body color. But we’re not there yet. If you open the boot lid, you will see that the floor of the luggage compartment is finished with teak.

There is only one copy of the Fiat Panda 4×4 Piccolo Lusso. It costs €30,000.
