We all know that the ‘Find My’ function is incredibly useful. But now Find My has found an Apple Watch after 1.5 years, in the ocean!
Find My Finds Apple Watch (After 1.5 Years in the Ocean)
You often read stories about someone who lost their iPhone or Apple Watch and then found it again within a few days using Find My. But Jared Brick takes it a step further.
He lost his Apple Watch in the Caribbean. Then, over a year later, he got his Apple Watch back thanks to the Find My feature. And the best part: the smartwatch still worked fine.
His full story can be seen in his video on YouTube. During a vacation in June 2022, he had bought two Apple Watches, one for him and one for his son. He went diving several times a day during this vacation, while wearing his Apple Watch. But after an afternoon of diving, he suddenly realized that his Apple Watch was no longer on his wrist.
He then used the Find My feature to report his Apple Watch as lost. And he hoped that someone would find it someday. Over a year later in December 2023, he got a voicemail. Someone had found his Apple Watch! The Apple Watch still worked and, thanks to Find My, the watch was showing Brick’s phone number.
The honest finder sent the Apple Watch to him. The smartwatch still looked exceptionally good, with only a few minor scratches here and there. After charging, the Apple Watch still worked fine. In the video, Brick thanks the honest finder for returning his watch and gives Apple a thumbs up for the Find My function.
