What is striking about the MG Marvel R Electric?

The rear-wheel drive Marvel R is more practical, because it has a somewhat larger range of 402 kilometers. 180 hp and 410 Nm are also by no means values ​​to shamefully withdraw behind the Great Wall of China. Both versions charge the battery from 30 to 80 percent in 30 minutes, and from 5 to 80 percent in 43 minutes. He certainly doesn’t set standards. In comparison, the battery of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 charges from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes.
What’s good about the MG Marvel R Electric?
Chinese brands meanwhile know very well how to build good cars. SAIC, the parent company of MG, has had a joint venture with Volkswagen for decades. The character of the car is therefore exactly what the European customer would like: a comfortably tuned chassis that is not too squishy, ​​a properly communicative control system and a beautifully finished dashboard. Moreover, the space is also good, especially in the back. The details have also been thought of, such as a good sound system from Bose. Furthermore, all modern safety systems are standard.
What do you dislike about the MG Marvel R Electric?
During our test round through the beautiful Betuwe, we think carefully about demand. Basically, the MG Marvel R is an excellent car. But we are now ruined by the Hyundai Ioniq 5. That car is the norm and every competitor pales in the shadow of this beautiful Korean. Not only thanks to the sublime appearance, but also because the Ioniq 5 can’t be beat with its charging speed. It makes quite a difference whether you have to wait 15 minutes or more than half an hour until the battery is almost full again. Just good is no longer good enough if you want to scare Hyundai.
When will the MG Marvel R Electric come to the Netherlands and what is the price?
The MG Marvel R Electric will come to the Netherlands in the second half of October 2021. The Luxury version is available from 45,985 euros. For a Performance you pay at least 50,485 euros. All new MG models come with a 7 year / 150,000 km manufacturer’s warranty, including powertrain and battery.
