Bad news if you regularly use Flitsmeister, because the navigation service announced on February 4, 2026 that it will stop immediately. You need to know this.
Flitsmeister stops
Do you regularly travel by car? In that case, you have probably already installed Flitsmeister. With the application you can arrive at your destination without any problems, while you receive notifications of section checks and speed cameras. This way you avoid getting a traffic fine, but that has not been the case since February 4, 2026. The navigation service’s website states that Flitsmeister will stop immediately. Flitsmeister may return in a different form, but the developers are leaving that open for now.
According to Flitsmeister, billions of kilometers have been traveled with the application in recent years and the app has provided billions of notifications. This is now coming to an end, because Flitsmeister will stop on February 4, 2026. Flitsmeister does not mention a reason for the sudden end of the navigation service. It is still unclear what the consequences will be for users, as the application is currently still online.

Consequences for subscribers
Flitsmeister has already implemented major changes in recent years. More and more free functions disappeared behind a paywall at the navigation service. While you could previously use features such as CarPlay and Android Auto free of charge, you had to pay for them since May 1, 2024. With Flitsmeister Pro and Flitsmeister Pro Plus, users gained access to exclusive features such as CarPlay, Android Auto and an ad-free application.
It is still unknown what the direct consequences will be for subscribers now that Flitsmeister is closing down. Users pay 2.99 euros monthly for the Flitsmeister Pro subscription, while the Flitsmeister Pro Plus subscription costs 6.99 euros per month. It is expected that Flitsmeister will soon communicate to subscribers whether and when these services will be taken off the air. The subscriptions may then be automatically terminated.

End of Flitsmeister
Flitsmeister was founded in February 2010 and closed after almost 16 years. Millions of people used the navigation service almost every day, which means that many users will probably soon have to switch to an alternative. In the near future, more will become clear about the consequences for the application, which can currently still be used to navigate to a destination. This will probably change soon, and Flitsmeister may continue in a different form.
There are now plenty of other navigation services that you can use to reach your next destination. For example, Apple Maps, Waze, TomTom GPS and Google Maps are functioning increasingly better on both your smartphone and on the screen of your car.
