Delivery of the fully electric Ford Mustang Mach-E may be delayed. That has Electrek heard from customers in Norway. Ford Netherlands says it has received no signals that this is also the case for our country.
On the Norwegian forum of the Mach-E club, customers with a reservation would have been told that they can only finalize their reserved copy with the configurator in June or July, after which delivery will start in November at the earliest . Major changes to the ordered copy can lead to delays.
The hitch is said to be type-approved there, delayed until the end of June. In addition, the Mexican factory where the Mustang Mach-E has to roll off the production line has been stopped due to the corona virus. This is according to Electrek the start of production shifted by one month.
Importance for the Netherlands
Ford Netherlands says it will keep a close eye on developments, as it is difficult at this time to make firm statements about extradition. “For the time being, we expect the fourth quarter of this year,” said PR manager Sebastiaan van de Pol.
This is important because the addition rules will be adjusted as of 1 January. If the car is not registered before that date, business drivers who have reserved a Mustang Mach-e run the risk of a higher monthly fee. The car has been reserved more than 1,500 times in the Netherlands.
“Everyone within the European organization is aware of the need to deliver a priority market in the Netherlands in the fourth quarter,” concludes Van de Pol.
