Ford: No plans to divest EV business

Ford has no plans to separate an EV branch from its other activities. That is striking, because earlier it was whispered that the American brand was planning this.

At the beginning of this month, Ford announced a significant additional investment in the electrification of the range. With an additional 18 billion, the brand would like to strengthen its position in the electric future. Ford may also be planning to partially separate the EV activities, perhaps in the way Volvo has done with Polestar. That would give the company the opportunity to raise extra money through, for example, an IPO and to benefit from the value that investors attribute to trendy new brands such as Tesla and Rivian.

That cuts fine, but Ford CEO Jim Farley vehemently denies to CNBC that his company is planning such a thing. The money would have been intended to increase the focus (yes) on electric driving and expand the EV business within Ford, but would have nothing to do with getting a new brand or sub-label. Whose deed.
