The all-new Ford Ranger was presented at the end of November, but the Raptor version of the pickup is still waiting. He now slides by in a slightly less concealing camouflage suit than last time.

The all-new Ford Ranger takes quite a bit of distance from its predecessor when it comes to its looks. Especially at the front, the Ranger looks much more like its big brother F-150 than before and that gives it a more American appearance. You can also say that the normal Ranger already has a somewhat rougher edge than before, but that does not mean that Ford is letting a more intense Raptor version pass by this time.

Now that the look of the Ranger is no longer a secret, the Ranger Raptor can also go out with less camouflage than last time. Nevertheless, we still have to zoom in slightly to discover any differences and Ford seems to keep it fairly subtle. The skid plate hanging higher above the ground at the front is a sign that we are dealing with the roughest Ranger here, and the prominent exhaust pipes on either side of the rear bumper show that. Furthermore, you can of course expect a somewhat sturdier grille than usual with the Ranger Raptor. We can already see that the grille at the bottom is slightly wider than with the regular Raptor and therefore a little further into the C-shaped headlights. We can also logically expect that the brand name is written in bold letters where the blue oval is normally visible. A typical Raptor feature, which, for example, also has the F-150 Raptor.

The new Ford Ranger

It remains to be seen what Ford has in store for us technically with the Ranger Raptor. In any case, count on a modified chassis that can handle rougher work, as well as more potent braking and extra driving modes. You probably don’t have to expect a big V8 in the Ranger Raptor, even the F-150 Raptor no longer has a V8. There are rumors that Ford will pull a 3.0 biturbo V6 off the shelves. The same block that is also in the Explorer ST. In that SUV, the V6 is good for 406 hp power and 563 Nm of torque, so you can bet that the Ranger Raptor is very well endowed with that. We expect the unveiling of the new Ford Ranger Raptor sometime in the first half of this year. The current Ranger Raptor has also come to the Netherlands, it remains to be seen whether that also applies to its successor.
