Forgot iPhone? That gets a lot trickier with iOS 15!

With iOS 15, it becomes a lot harder to forget your iPhone. There are all kinds of tricks in it to find lost items. These three improvements bring iOS 15 to the Find My app on your iPhone.

iOS 15: Forgetting iPhone is a thing of the past

Yesterday Apple presented iOS 15. The latest iPhone update will roll out this fall for all phones that now run on iOS 14. iOS 15 is packed with new features and in this article we take a look at the revamped Find My app.

1. Forgetting iPhone is no longer possible with iOS 15

Forgot iPhone? That gets a lot trickier with iOS 15!

It becomes practically impossible to forget your iPhone with iOS 15. The update ensures that you receive a signal when you stray too far from your phone, AirTag or another device (such as your MacBook).

The moment you are too far away, your lost iPhone will play a music clip. At least, if you choose this. You will soon be able to set whether you want to activate this warning for each connected accessory in the settings of the Find My app.

Extra handy is that you can take the location into account. For example, you will not receive a notification if you leave your iPhone at home, but you will if you forget it in the canteen at work.

2. Finding Lost Items

Another cool new feature for iOS 15: the Find My app will soon also work for lost devices and devices that no longer give a signal (that are offline). This is especially useful if your iPhone is stolen or has an empty battery.

When your battery is empty, the Find My app shows the last known position on the map. Did a thief wipe your stolen iPhone? Then you can still locate the device via the Find My app.

3. New Widgets

Finally, the Find My app gets its own widget. That way, you can keep an eye on all your personal stuff on your iPhone’s home screen. This window shows exactly where your stuff is.
