But where do you watch this F1 season live? Unfortunately, Formula 1 cannot be watched for free, but there are several options to reduce the costs. We list the options below for you.
F1 Watch
Viaplay: from 16.99 euros per month

In the Netherlands, the rights of Formula 1 have been in the hands of Viaplay for a number of years. You can therefore look the easiest through this streaming service. Here you get access to all live races, but also free training sessions, qualifications and fun other content around Formula 1.
During the week you look at informative documentaries, but sometimes it is also time for something else. Then you watch between the further offer full of good films and series. A subscription to Viaplay costs you at least 16.99 euros per month. You get this price by taking out the annual subscription and choosing advertising. Please note: you will also see advertising during the races. You can also close every month, but then you spend 19.99 euros per month.
Do you want to prevent this? Then you go for Viaplay standard. This costs you 21.99 euros per month every month, but thanks to the annual subscription 19.99 euros per month. A subscription to Viaplay also includes standard free F1 TV Pro.
Viaplay via your provider
A subscription to Viaplay can also be concluded via your provider. This way everything will be on one invoice and you don’t have to fiddle with separate bills for TV. With all providers you get the standard subscription for 19.99 euros per month. These are Odido, Ziggo, KPN
Only Odido currently has an offer to close it cheaper. You get a 6.49 euro discount when you also complete a subscription to ESPN.

F1 TV Pro: from 11.90 euros per month

Is all that extra content not necessary for you and do you really just want to watch Formula 1? Then F1 TV Pro might be the best option for you. It is the official streaming service for the sport, but you also look at Formula 2 and 3, for example.
During the races you choose the perspective of what you want to see. So you can constantly keep an eye on Max Verstappen or Lando Norris, if you wish. Afterwards, look back races from the past or watch an interesting documentary. A subscription to F1 TV starts at 3.99 euros, but you don’t watch the races live. For this you must be with the pro subscription that you 11.90 euros per month cost.
New is F1 TV Premium, which is especially interesting for Apple users with support for multiple display. You also look with up to six devices at the same time. For this you lost 17.99 euros per month or 142.99 euros for a whole year. This amounts to 11.92 euros per month.
F1 TV Pro (and Premium) currently also has a trial subscription, with which you test the streaming service for seven days. You can watch the Sunday race for free!
Cheapest option: watch via a VPN
The cheapest option is to install a VPN on your device. Formula 1 can still be followed for free on linear television in a number of countries in the country. By encrypting your data through a ‘Virtual Private Network’, it seems as if you are in a country of your choice. So you get access to content that was blocked without VPN.
In the following countries, Formula 1 is broadcast for free:
- Austria (Via ORF or Servus TV, German spoken)
- Switzerland (Via SRF, Zwitserfuits spoken)
- Belgium (Via RTBF, French spoken)
- Luxembourg (via RTL ZLEE, Letseburgs spoken)
To watch a live stream, you – with the VPN switched on – go to the site of the broadcaster. Then you view the race as you are used to. Call on Grand Prix Radio at the same time and you will hear the Dutch comments from Olav Mol. The following parties are reliable and have servers in the above countries. A free VPN is not recommended, because the speeds are often a lot lower and you ultimately pay with your data.
View VPN Netherlands: from € 1.59 p/m
View Cyberghost: from € 2.19 p/m
View Surfshark: from € 2.19 p/m
View NordVPN: from € 3.39 p/m
