Foxconn builds Indi One and is testing Model V

Sit down, because this is going to be a complicated story. We start with the news surrounding the IndiEV Indi One. That remarkably shaped hatchback was presented in 2021 as the first car from the American IndiEV, a company that wants to develop extremely hip and technologically advanced EVs for a young audience in California. Foxconn, which as an electronics manufacturer knows a thing or two about the production of electronics, is going to build a series of prototypes in Lordstown, Ohio. Since last spring, the Taiwanese giant has owned a factory with a floor area of ​​almost 58 hectares, which once belonged to General Motors. Foxconn took over from Lordstown Motors, which has recently started building its first electric pickup, the Lordstown Endurance. With help from Foxconn, of course.

The deal with IndiEV is not the only Foxconn news, as the Taiwanese company showed recently for the first time his own electric pick-up. In a teaser video we see a first image of the model, which seems to be quite compact for pick-up terms. It has a fully-fledged double cabin and a sleek, but traditionally shaped body. Foxconn is the international name of a Taiwanese electronics developer and manufacturer, which calls itself the Hon Hai Group in Taiwan and China. Under the name Foxtron, Foxconn has had an automotive division since 2020, which was set up in collaboration with Yulon Motor. In the US, Foxconn, or Foxtron actually, bought the former GM factory of Lordstown Motors last May. In addition to the Lordstown Endurance and IndiEV prototypes, Fisker models are likely to be built here in the future.
