Paid parking somewhere on the street is now also possible with Flitsmeister. It is now possible to pay directly via the app and to stop your parking time. This is how you activate the parking function.
Paid parking with Flitsmeister
It is no longer necessary to walk to a parking meter or open a separate parking app when you park your car somewhere. The developers of the popular Flitsmeister have added support for paid parking.
When you park somewhere, the app recognizes whether you are stationary in a parking zone and asks whether you want to start a parking action. If you drive away after a while, you will be asked if you want to stop the parking action. This way you don’t forget to stop parking again and you never pay too much. You then pay the amount due for paid parking directly from the app. Parking with Flitsmeister is therefore extremely simple and easy, especially if you always have the app open while on the road.
The good thing is that you can pay in different ways. You can choose to pay with your credit card, but also for direct debit. In addition, you can register multiple license plates to park with, and add them for free. If you are once in a friend’s car or have a loaner car, you can still park with Flitsmeister.
You pay 0.25 euro cents in transaction costs per parking action, on top of the costs for parking itself. Most competitors such as Yellowbrick and Parkmobile charge a little more per parking action, but the ANWB Weg app is cheaper in some cases.
Enable parking function
To make parking via the app possible, Flitsmeister is starting a collaboration with the Belgian parking company 4411. It is therefore necessary to register once for free at 4411 to be able to park with Flitsmeister. You can easily set this up via the app itself.
To log in, go to ‘Parking’ via the menu on the left and select ‘Enable parking’. Follow the steps here to create your account. For the time being, it is only possible to park on the street with Flitsmeister, but the makers are working on support for parking garages.
At the moment you also do not receive an automatic message when you drive away whether you want to stop a parking action. You can set this via the settings of the app, where you indicate whether you want a reminder every fifteen minutes, half hour, hour or every two hours. This automatic reminder will also be added soon with an update.
The parking function is in version 9.4 of the app, the update of which was already released last week. So make sure you have the most recent version. Is your Flitsmeister app already up-to-date? Then you only have to restart the app, after which the function appears automatically.
Voice Control and Apple CarPlay
Flitsmeister has grown up as an app that warns you about speed cameras on the road. The app has now grown into a fully-fledged navigation app, with more and more useful functions that help you before, during and now with parking, even after a ride. The parking function is therefore not the first major update that the app has received lately.
For example, it has been possible for a while to control the app by voice control and you also get warnings in the event of slippery conditions. Recently, Flitsmeister added Apple CarPlay support. This will finally allow Flitsmeister to compete with other third-party navigation apps for Apple CarPlay, such as Waze and Google Maps.
