The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE probably comes with its own Exynos processor. The previous rumors about the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 are now contradicted by new rumors, making it seem that the S21 FE will come on the market with an Exynos processor. What’s the deal?
Which processor is it going to be?
Just briefly summarize everything. Last year’s Samsung Galaxy S20 FE was available in an Exynos 990 variant (4G version), and a variant with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, the 5G version. It was then suspected that the Galaxy S21 FE would be released in early October of this year with Qualcomm’s most recent top model, the Snapdragon 888. A little later, however, the news came that the launch of the S21 FE would be moved to January 2021. with the worldwide chip shortage as the underlying reason. And now this shortage again seems to play a major role. Both Qualcomm and Samsung would, among other things, not have enough processors on the shelf to be able to provide all S21 FEs. That is why Samsung probably chooses to provide the S21 FE with a Qualcomm 888 or an Exynos 2100.
Android 12
the leaker FrontTron noted that a model of the S21 FE with an Exynos 2100 processor had surfaced in the Geekbench database. In this report we can also see that the used S21 FE has 8 GB of RAM. We can also conclude from this report that the S21 FE would probably come with Android 12. That’s nice, because with Samsung’s current update policy, this would mean your phone would still receive Android upgrades up to Android 15.
S21 FE Suspected Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will probably be equipped with a 6.5” 120Hz OLED panel. The camera setup would be the same as that of the Samsung Galaxy S21(+). This includes a 12MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide angle camera and a 64MP telephoto lens with 1.1x optical zoom and up to 30x digital zoom. The device should therefore come with Android 12 out of the box. So it is still the question with which processor exactly. The phone is expected to launch on January 4, 2022.
