Game Over Cycles, Custom Builders from Poland, have developed a very special Custom motorcycle: a Custom inspired by the 1936 Auburn Bobtail Speedster “Slow Burn” of Metallica singer and founder James Hetfield.
Designers from Poland built the custom motorcycle as a sister vehicle to the famous musician’s classic car. The body lines of the motorcycle precisely mirror the shape of the Slow Burn, and its construction reflects the components of the car.
The headlight imitates the front of a car with a radiator, the taillights resemble car lamps, and the steering wheel and levers are made in the style of the windshield framework. In addition, the front fender is finished with a chrome cover, just like the fenders of the Slow Burn, the 30-inch front wheel is inspired by the look of a car tire, and the entire rear section of the motorcycle forms a symmetrical line with the rear of the car .
The biggest technical challenge of the project was reproducing the lines of the car on the motorcycle. And looking at the end result, we can only conclude that they have completely succeeded in this in Poland.
In addition to connecting the exterior of the car to the interior, another challenge was scale. The bike needed to have large proportions to reflect the shape of the Slow Burn’s line, and given the car’s ownership, the team at Game Over Cycles adapted the bike’s proportions to James Hetfield’s 1.85m height , which was a special challenge.
At the same time, the entire structure had to be kept in the spirit of the original car, the 1936 Auburn Speedster, with its distinctive Art Deco style. This style, both in art and architecture, is characterized by symmetrical patterns, arcs, ovals and ellipses.

The entire construction of the motorcycle is made of steel and contains no plastic elements. The engine is characterized by clean lines, with all bolts covered. The engine is 3.3 meters long and weighs 400 kg. The time spent building the vehicle was 7,000 man hours.
Rick Dore, an American Custom Car designer, who restored the Auburn 852 together with James Hetfield, said:
“When we saw the pictures of the motorcycle that Game Over built, we were blown away. It’s an incredible vehicle, especially when you compare it to James’ car. The bodywork, the wheels, the color, even the levers, everything was just right with the Slow Burn. My hats off to Game Over, they did a fantastic job and the craftsmanship was second to none.”
Stanisław Myszkowski, founder and owner of Game Over Cycles, explains the origins of the project:
“Metallica has always been a huge artistic inspiration for me. I am a fan of both the band’s music and the visual aspects that accompany their art. James Hetfield is a big car enthusiast, he collects and restores vintage cars, so we decided to to combine two worlds and build a motorcycle inspired by James’ vehicle.”
The motorcycle will make its U.S. premiere on March 9, 2024 at the Rat’s Hole Custom Bike Show, a build competition organized by Daytona Bike Week 2024, one of the largest annual motorcycle rallies in the world, held in Florida.
