Genesis shows a murky teaser plate of what is most likely a new electric SUV. The electric newcomer will make its debut in China later this month.
The Chinese department of Genesis shows an image showing the nose of a model yet to be presented. While there isn’t much to see there, it does reveal some things that give away what Genesis has in the development rooms. The headlights and grille indicate that Genesis for SUV GV70 has something in the barrel. It is the logo in the grille that reveals exactly what that is.
The GV70 where we see the dark detail shot has a closed grille with a tiny logo as we know from the Electrified G80. That electric version of the G80 made its debut in China in April this year. In February this year we were able to show you a first series of spy photos of an electric GV70.

The Electrified G80 is currently for sale in its home country of South Korea and it is expected that the electric GV70, which will probably be called Electrified GV70, will also appear on the market there. Genesis seems to opt for the Electrified label for electric versions of cars that are also available with combustion engines. Cars of the brand that are always electrically powered are given a ‘normal’ Genesis designation. Genesis’ technical brother of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 is simply called GV60.
The GV70 Electrified will be presented on 19 November.
