The fully electric Genesis GV60 ‘recognizes’ its owner in various ways. This makes getting in and setting up the car according to personal wishes even easier.
With many new cars you no longer have to touch your key to open and start the car. After all, keyless entry and keyless go have been with us for a while. It can be even more special, says Genesis. That comes to light with the all-new all-electric Genesis GV60.
The GV60 will include an infrared camera in the B-pillar (photo 4) that is able to recognize faces. The car opens for people who have registered their faces in advance via the camera. Images of up to two people can be saved. According to Genesis, the system should also work fine in the dark and rainy. According to Genesis, a major advantage is that drivers do not always have to keep a key to hand, but the big difference with keyless entry is that the key can also simply remain in the car. This can be useful, for example, when you go swimming or running. The key then remains safe and dry under lock and key in the car itself.
Once you are in the car, you can also call up all personal settings in no time and start the car. This is possible with a fingerprint scanner. Not a groundbreaking technology in itself, but in combination with facial recognition, a key is really almost superfluous to get in and drive away. The Genesis GV60 is a sister model of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 and is almost certainly coming to Europe. You can read more about the Genesis GV60 here.
