NeeView is a free open source tool that allows you to view PDFs, videos and images. With the photos, this can also be done in archives such as zip, 7z and comic book formats such as cbr and cbz. Nice is that you can see two images side by side on your screen.
Step 1
You download the tool (of Japanese origin) here (installable or portable). All you have to do is drag and drop a file into the window or open it from the File menu and view all the images in the entire folder. Click on the number 1 at the top right to see two photos at the same time. To view two landscape photos side by side, open the menu as well Page and deselect Wide is two page.
Step 2
You can browse through your photo folder via the arrow keys, with the left and right mouse button and via the slider at the bottom. Press F11 to view a photo in full screen and press F5 for a slideshow. With Ctrl + 1 and Ctrl + 2 you can quickly switch between single or double view. Press F11 again to return to the program window.
Step 3
In the left window you will find three buttons: PageList for a file overview of the current folder, History and Bookshelf for a handy overview of the previously viewed media files. Click at Bookshelf the button with the three dots to adjust the display style. From this menu you can also Save Playlists Selecting.
Step 4
In the right window you will not only find the properties of the media file, you can access it Navigator also find tools to scale, rotate, stretch or flip. Behind the Effectbutton hides a large number of effects (open the drop-down menu at Type), as well as options like Trim, Custom Size and Resize Filter.
