Sometimes certain devices, such as printers, stop working properly when you switch to another version of Windows. This can often be solved by installing a newer driver.
Connected device does not work
It’s a well-known phenomenon: as soon as people start using a new version of Windows, not all devices around the computer do it right at once. Think of the printer or the boxes. In some cases, this is because the device driver (also known as the driver) is outdated. Installing a newer version fixes the issues.
Resolving problems
Are you having problems with one of your devices? Then try the following in Windows:
- Click the magnifying glass icon in the taskbar.
- Type the word “Device Manager.”
- click on Device Manager.
- A window opens. Click on the arrow for the type of device that is no longer working properly.
- Double click on the name of the device.
- In the new window, click on the tab Driver.
- click on Update driver.
- click on Automatic driver search.
- Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to download and install the new program.
If the most recent driver is already installed, no newer program is available. Then click on Close and check your device manufacturer’s website. There you will find information about the available drivers and possible other solutions to the problem.
