The official Google search app has been updated in the App Store. With Google 11.0, the app takes advantage of the new features of iPhone and iPad.

Google 3D Touch support
On the iPhone 6S, you can now press harder on the Google app icon to use 3D Touch. A small menu pops up with three options. For example, you can search directly, open a search with your voice or go directly to the image search. The options on the iPhone are therefore mainly intended as shortcuts to parts within the app, so that you lose little time.
Multitasking on iPad
Google has also added new features to the iPad. Version 11 allows users to multitask. This is handy, because if you read an article on a website, for example, and you want to look up something, you can do that quickly by displaying the Google app. On the iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, or iPad mini 2 or later, you can use Slide Over to slide Google over another app, after which you can enter the search term. In addition to Slide Over, Split View is also available, so that you have Safari open on the left and Google on the right.
Another handy feature is that Google now shows the opening times of shops and restaurants during the holidays. You immediately know where you can and cannot go. Previously, Google already added the function with which you can check in a handy graph at locations at which times of the day it is busiest. This information can be viewed, for example, if you search for a restaurant and click on it. This also works if you just search with Google via the Safari browser.
