Google Meet now lets 500 people join meetings

Google Meet business users can now join meetings with more than one person at a time. The limit has been increased to 500 participants who can join a single video meeting, but it only applies to specific Workspace subscriptions.

Google will increase the video meeting limit in Meet to 500 participants. The company announces this in a blog post. The increase only applies to users of Workspace Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, and Education Plus.

For other Workspace customers, limits of 250, 150 or 100 participants per meeting apply. With your personal Google account you can always invite up to 100 people to a Meet. You can only talk to each other for 60 minutes.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues, video meetings are an important tool for connecting people. Not only you and your circle of friends, but also professionally. There are still restrictions on international travel and working from home is recommended in many countries, including the Netherlands and Belgium.
