Google Search is getting an update with trending searches. Not interested in other people’s searches? Then you just switch the function off. You will also receive faster answers to frequently asked questions.
Google Search trending searches
Google has provided an update to the Google Search app in the App Store. As a result, you will now find trending searches while searching. This means that when you tap the search bar, it will show ‘What’s trending’ with a list of popular searches. These trending searches can be recognized by blue icons with a white arrow.
At the time of writing, for example, a shooting in Purmerend, hurricane Irma, the football match between the Netherlands and France and a fire in Gorinchem are popular. That way you don’t even have to type the most popular questions. Usually you go to Google to search for something specific, but you can of course also use these topics to browse current topics.
While the feature is new to the iOS app, Android users are already used to it. When the function was introduced on Android devices, Google did, however, receive many complaints. Many users did not want to see other people’s searches in their app at all. That is why the option to turn off trending searches was added later via an update. In the iOS app, this is also possible in the settings menu. There you will find ‘Trending search. enroll. ‘ with a slider.
Direct answer to your questions
Another new feature is that you will receive immediate answers to some questions while searching. Even before you have completely entered the search query. For example if you type ‘how high is the’, but also other popular questions.
