Gordon Murray Automotive comes with an extra heavy version of the T.50. This is the Gordon Murray T.50s Niki Lauda, the in every way outrageous track version of the T.50.
The car brand of none other than Gordon Murray, best known in the car world as the designer of the McLaren F1, pushed the T.50 forward last year. The Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 now gets this T.50s Niki Lauda next to it, an impressive track version named after F1 legend Niki Lauda that takes almost all facets of the ‘regular’ T.50 to a higher level. Behind the front seats, for example, is a heavily modified version of the 3.9 V12 developed by Cosworth, which is also used in the T.50. In the Gordon Murray T.50s Niki Lauda, however, that machine does not deliver 663 hp and 467 Nm, but 735 hp and 485 Nm. Thanks to new cylinder heads and a modified crankshaft, among other things. The rev limiter only cuts in at an impressive 12,100 rpm. The V12 puts only 162 pounds in the shell.

Another difference: in the T.50 you shift with a manual six-speed gearbox, this T.50s Niki Lauda has shift paddles behind the wheel. The car weight of the T.50S Niki Lauda, at 852 kilos, is still quite a bit lower than that of the original, although that car with 986 kilos was certainly not a heavyweight. The T.50s Niki Lauda also has the bizarre-looking fan on the back, a module that sucks in road wind, making it faster over the carriage. A nod to the Gordon Murray-designed Brabham-Alfa Romeo BT46B, a Formula 1 car from 1978. The spoiler work on the T50s Niki Lauda is a lot more exuberant than that of the street-legal variant and delivers a maximum of 1,500 kilos of downforce , thanks in part to a 1.76 meter wide rear wing. Gordon Murray Automotive gives the T.50s more direct steering and puts the car on special 18-inch alloy wheels with center wheel nuts.

If you want one, you have to dig deep into your pockets. The Gordon Murray Automotive T.50s Niki Lauda has a starting price of € 3.58 million. There will be a total of 25 of them, although Gordon Murray Automotive will not start building until 2023. First the 100 regular T50s have to be sold.
