Greater electric range for plug-in hybrid Volvo V60

Volvo is implementing a model year update on the plug-in hybrid flavors of the V60. The Volvo V60 with plug-in hybrid drivetrain will now run on electric power alone.

The plug-in hybrid Volvo V60 is currently still being produced in Torslanda, Sweden, but the new model year models are rolling off the production line in Ghent, Belgium. That is not the only news regarding the plug-in hybrid Volvo V60 of the new model year. In this way, Volvo improves the range of the plugged-in station wagon. And it wasn’t tender either. The Volvo V60 T6 AWD is and remains 350 hp and the battery pack also retains its capacity of 18.8 kWh. However, that battery is now good for an electric range of 92 kilometers. Previously, the maximum electric range was 87-88 kilometers.

Volvo is also introducing a new version of the Volvo V60 with a T6 plug-in hybrid powertrain. It is called Essential Edition and costs €51,295. This makes this version cheaper than the Core – Bright entry-level version, which has a starting price of €56,595. The Essential Edition also has the Bright exterior, is painted Vapor Gray, stands on 18-inch alloy wheels and has a chrome-colored finish all around. Dual-zone climate control, parking beepers and a reversing camera are also standard, as is the extensive Google infotainment system.
