GTO Engineering shows interior of Squalo

GTO Engineering is gradually revealing more about the Squalo, a new car that is inspired by the past in both appearance and technology. That also applies to the interior, which we now get to see.

GTO Engineering is a British company that wants to revive a bygone era. This is reflected this year in the ‘Squalo’ christened coupé, which in appearance is strongly inspired by the Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta, according to many one of the most tasteful designs ever. The GTO Engineering Squalo may also be there, as we concluded recently when the company shared more photos of it. Now we get to see some design sketches of the interior and again it has to be said that it is tasteful.

The interior has clearly been designed according to the same principle as the exterior: there are similarities with the Ferrari, but it is also going a bit too far to call it a shameless retro copy. The two large round clocks, the steering wheel and the shape of the bucket seats are reminiscent of the interior of the 250 GT SWB Berlinetta, but otherwise it is a newly drawn mix of classic and modern. There are a few different colorways to choose from in the largely handmade interior. According to GTO Engineering, it does not lack modern conveniences, such as a good sound system, smartphone connectivity and infotainment, but it will announce more about that at a later stage.

As can be seen in the photo above, the Squalo has a six-speed manual transmission, part of the mechanics of which can be seen openly. You can bet that it will be a tough game, because the gearbox is linked to a 4.0 V12 developed by GTO Engineering itself, which – again – is inspired by that of the Ferrari. For the time being, GTO Engineering still has some time to work it all out. The Squalo is only on the production schedule for 2023.
