The big majority never goes offroad, so before 2025 Harley-Davidson has put a sportier and much more version of the Pan America 1250 on the market: the Pan America 1250 pcs.
A Pan America 1250 Special, but then equipped with a 17 “front wheel, that is in a nutshell de Pan America 1250 ST, the third model of the America Family Pan for model year 2025, which the Americans have focused on the sporty street rider That much rather turns turns than going off -road.
In addition to being exchanged for a 17 “copy, Harley has also made the rims wider (for 3 to 3.5 inches, behind from 5 to 5.5 inches) and other tires in other sizes, with now Michelin Scorcher “Sport” instead of Scorcher “Adventure”, in sizes 120/70 ZR 17 “(58W) and 180/55 ZR 17” (73W) instead of 120/70 R19 “(60v) and 170/60 R 17 “(72V). But that’s not the only thing the Americans have adjusted.
Sportier street use fits sportier suspension, and that is the second that Harley has adjusted. The Showa semi-active electronically controlled suspension has a sportier setting and shorter spring roads of ‘only’ 170 mm front and rear, where that is with the Pan America 1250 Special 190 mm.
Thanks to the shorter spring roads, the seat height has also been reduced, although Harley does not mention the exact height in the technical specifications. The only thing mentioned is a seat height with optional adaptive riding height (ARH) of 805 mm in the low position of the saddle, which is cut slightly deeper to be more ‘in’ the engine, rather than on it.
Judging by the seat height in the low position of 850 mm of the Pan America 1250 Special, which is lowered to 830 mm with ARH, we think the seat height of the ST 825 mm will be. In addition, the radiator hood is narrower, the hand caps are removed and a non -adjustable dark windshield is provided that is significantly lower.
The short spring roads have also had a small influence on geometry. For example, the wheelbase with 1,570 mm is a fraction shorter than the 1,585 mm of the 1250 special and the front wheel now has a follow -up of 95 mm (is 108 mm for the 1250 special). In practice, the ST will therefore be easier to change direction, not in the last place also thanks to the roadworthy weight that with 246 kilos is an impressive 12 kilos less than the 1250 special.
The Pan America is powered by the well-known liquid-cooled 1,252 cc Revolution max 60 ° V-twin with 30 ° offset, which has been adjusted to the requirements of Euro 5+ and is now good for a top capacity of 149 hp at 8,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 124 Nm by 6,750 rpm. Compared to the 1250 special, the exhaust system has been adjusted, by removing the middle room, the weight has been reduced and the sound improved.
As far as electronics are concerned, Harley also equipped the ST with the complete package, with electronically regulated curves ABS, angle of slope and drag-torque slip control, vehicle hold control, tire pressure control, wheelie control, cruise control and an up/down quickshifter. And of course Bluetooth connectivity and navigation via the HD Mobile app.
