Birds, felines and animals with poisonous glands have inspired car manufacturers for decades to name their models. Cars are less often named after dogs, but fortunately there is the Chinese Haval.
Haval is a Great Wall brand that, in the form of the Big Dog, already has a nice and stubborn and eccentrically designed SUV on its menu. The Big Dog will soon be joined by a smaller model: the Cool Dog.
AutoWeek has surfaced the photos of this Haval Cool Dog from the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. That also means that we have the first specifications. According to its registration, the Cool Dog is 4.52 meters long and has a wheelbase of 2.71 meters. This also means we immediately know how Haval places the car: one step below the Big Dog. With a length of 4.62 meters and a wheelbase of 2.74 meters it lives up to its name within the Haval range. The Cool Dog gets in any case a 184 hp 1.5 four-cylinder. It is a blown petrol engine that is also available in the Big Dog.
Just like the Big Dog, the Cool Dog has a nice eccentric design. Like its big brother and a number of other Haval models, the SUV was created under the direction of former Land Rover designer Phil Simmons.
Would this stubborn Haval Cool Dog be something for the Netherlands? We are curious about your opinion!
