Honda CB1000 Hornet SP: Strongest Hornet ever

Honda has released an SP version of its new Naked flagship CB1000 Hornet, which will be marketed alongside the standard version. The CB1000 Hornet SP has the same beating heart, but with more torque and power. And it didn’t stop there.

Honda CB1000 Hornet SP: Strongest Hornet ever

As far as we can remember, it is the first time that Honda has added an SP version to its sporty Naked model. Basically, the SP version is the same as the standard model, which has already been examined in more detail in this news item, the difference lies in the premium parts that have been used and the better performance of the inline four.

To start with the latter. Honda claims a top power of 115.6 kW at 11,000 rpm for the SP, which in terms of the age-old horsepower is 157 hp at 11,00 rpm. Honda is the only brand that only talks about power in kW and no longer in horsepower, but that’s besides the point. So 5 hp more, but at a 1,000 rpm higher speed. The torque is also slightly higher, now at 107 Nm at 9,000 rpm, while the standard version has ‘only’ 104 Nm at the same speed.

Then the bicycle part, where Honda has used better stuff. A fully adjustable Showa SFF-BP upside down front fork is now fitted at the front, while an Öhlins TTX36 rear shock is now fitted at the rear. The front brake calipers from Brembo are also super cool, the 4-piston Stylema ones are absolutely great. An up/down quickshifter is now also provided as standard.

The 2025 Honda CB1000 Hornet SP is available in all colors, as long as it is Matte Ballistic Black Metallic. Price and delivery time are not yet known.
