Whoever thought that 1 millionth GSX-R was an insane milestone in history is small compared to what Honda has achieved in India: Big Red recently put away the 10 millionth Shine there. That should be celebrated and so Honda has released a Celebration Edition.

With us in the Netherlands, importers are happy when a few hundred units of a model are sold per year, at European level you are talking about maybe 100,000 units over the entire lead time, but those 500 million consumers of the European Union don’t weigh against the 1.4 billion inhabitants of India.
Nevertheless, selling 10 million units of a model is a huge achievement. Honda also thought so, and so a special Celebration Edition of the Shine was released, the popular 125cc commuter that retails in India for just Rs 78,878, €986 at the current price.
For the Celebration Edition, however, more money has to be put on the table, Rs 1,500 to be exact, or € 18.75. For that money you get in addition to the two special color options – Matte Steel Black Metallic and Matte Sangria Red Metallic, special gold striping, Celebration Edition badging and a new brown seat.
