“Japanese cars are made for eternity.” In terms of technology, this is indeed regularly the case, but certainly in the 80s and 90s it was sometimes a different story with the carriage. This Honda Civic sedan unfortunately seems to be in the final round for that reason.
There are many nicer cars in this section than this Civic. We’re not just talking about the condition of this ’91-er, but also about the design. Still, there’s a good reason to lift it onto the podium. The fourth generation of the Civic is largely extinct in the Netherlands and certainly a sedan is extremely rare. That makes it a very nice spot, for which we would like to thank Willem Verstraten!
Unfortunately, the Civic has clearly not been treated with velvet gloves in its 30-year existence. From front to back, the car is covered with unmissable damage and even the bent number plate at the front apparently does not deserve attention. However, we spot the biggest problem with the rear wheel arch. A well-known enemy of the Civic has already gone on a rampage there: the rust devil.
The owner of this, incidentally, with a 90 hp 1.5 equipped Civic has been driving it for 16 years, so in any case it is a go-getter. The Civic will probably never let him or her stand, although the question is how long it will go well. Maybe it’s not that bad under the skin, only the MOT inspection that must take place in May next year at the latest may be an exciting one. Hopefully there will be some love in it!
