Tightened
The Honda HR-V is several years old in its current form and so it is time for renewal. The HR-V is not being renewed down to the thinnest filament, but there is still fiber news regarding the long-legged Honda.
The car that you know as Honda HR-V in Europe is known as Vezel in Japan. In its home country Japan, the Honda Vezel has now been subtly updated, although the changes are quite on the thin side. After about three years, the Honda HR-V – as we will call it – gets a freshened snout with a new grille. The still unframed slats taper less towards the bottom, which makes the grille a lot more angular. Lower in the front we see new mesh in the lower cooling opening.
There is also optical news at the rear, although it is thinner in nature. The rear lights have been given a new layout. Once again they are optically connected by an LED strip interrupted only by the Honda logo. From now on, we will also find horizontal LED segments lower in the rear lights. The adjustments in the interior are not earth-shattering either. Honda says goodbye to the curved decorative element around the center tunnel, resulting in a larger storage compartment under the button island with which you control the climate control. Furthermore, the hybrid powertrain of the Honda HR-V e:HEV must be software adjusted, resulting in, among other things, noise reduction and a more direct response to accelerator pedal input.
Unfortunately, we do not yet know when the European Honda HR-V will be tightened up.
