Honda SUV e: Concept is forerunner electric SUV

Honda has pulled a completely new concept car out of the hat. This is the SUV e: Concept, as its name suggests, a direct preview of what is to come in the EV field.

Honda presented a completely new concept vehicle at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China). The new show car goes by the name of SUV e: Concept, and with its naming, of course, leaves no doubt as to what it is exactly. The SUV e: Concept is of course a fully electric SUV, a car with which Honda shows what it has behind the scenes in the electrical field.

The Honda SUV e: Concept is a preview of a new all-electric SUV from Honda, the brand’s second modern EV after the strikingly styled Honda E. Whether the production car derived from this concept car is also coming to our part of the world, remains to be seen. Honda emphasizes that the car will be the brand’s first EV in China, as the E is not for sale, and that the car will be produced in China. Count on a production model that will eventually compete with electric SUVs like the Nissan Ariya presented this year.

Honda unfortunately does not open a book about the technology of the car, but does report that the show car is crammed with an arsenal of passive and active safety systems. It is not yet known when the final production version will be in the Chinese and possibly European showrooms.
