Since auto land encompasses more than just the Dutch or European market, we will keep one of our sights focused on Indonesia for a while. That’s because the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) is going on there, a local car exhibition where Honda presented the SUV RS Concept.
Honda supplies a whole arsenal of models in Indonesia, but a smaller crossover than the previous generation HR-V is not among them. That may soon change. During the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), Honda has lifted the SUV RS Concept onto the podium, a preview of a new compact crossover over which the Japanese immediately pour a sporty RS sauce.
Honda releases remarkably little information about its new concept car. However, it looks like the show car is looking ahead to a crossover that’s a size smaller than the HR-V. Aim for a car that shares its technology with the City, for example, and that won’t be much longer than 4.3 meters. The roofline of Honda’s new study model is striking, which is slightly sloping and that, together with the relatively flat rear window, gives the car the appearance of a ‘coupé SUV’.
It is very likely that the production version of this compact newcomer will not come to Europe. However, would a crossover under the new HR-V do the European Honda range any good? Let us know in the comments!
