Electric HS3?
Have you ever seen a Hongqi driving? If the answer is ‘yes’, you will never forget, what an impressive appearance the E-HS9 is. In the future you can also find a less impressive Hongqi, because the Chinese brand will bring new, compact models to Europe next year.
Hongqi is one of the many Chinese newcomers in Europe, but is an illustrious brand in China that has been around since the 1950s. It is also the main supplier that provides the wheels for everyone who holds sway in China, although it now also builds ‘civilian models’. In Europe we only know the Hongqi E-HS9, a huge, super luxurious electric SUV that is a relative bargain with a starting price of 70 grand.
However, AutoWeek learned that a family expansion is on the way next year. Hongqi would like to bring two new, more compact and therefore more affordable models to Europe in 2024. Which models? We don’t know exactly, but an electric version of the Hongqi HS3 presented earlier this year seems like a logical step. With the Hongqi E-QM5, Hongqi also has a very current electric sedan, but in China the price list is much longer than that. More next year!
