To operate the sockets on the front, connect the necessary cables to the motherboard. Be careful to make the right choices!
By mounting your PC, you will see that the box has many cables that are used to connect the sockets on the front to the motherboard. One of the cables is also used to connect the diodes and switches present on the box. The connection of these different cables requires method and a little observation:
- Find the cable with several small plugs. This cable corresponds to the buttons (M / A, reset) and to the diodes. In general, each small socket has an indication of its use. Be sure to respect the polarity when connecting the sockets (the – is associated with a black or white wire while the + is associated with a wire of another color).
- Observe the other cables carefully because they are distinguished by the number of holes on their sockets and by the keying (holes intentionally blocked). This helps you find the associated connectors on the motherboard based on the number of pins and whether one of the pins is missing, to match the plugged hole.

- A cable with a connector larger than the others is usually USB 3.0.
- If in doubt, consult the instructions for the case and the motherboard.
