Before leaving the social network, you can retrieve a complete history of your activity on Facebook, including photos and videos.
Fed up with Facebook? The drastic solution is to delete your account. But before you do so, maybe you want to get what’s in it? This is possible by going to the social network site with your web browser (the function is not present on the mobile app). Here’s the procedure to follow :
- After logging in, click on the small triangle at the top of the window, then select Settings.

- Click on General in the left column, then on Download a copy of your Facebook data.

- Finally click on the button Create my archive, then again on the window that opens.

- You will then receive a confirmation email to the email address you communicated to Facebook, then a second email when the download is ready because it may take time. A third email gives you the download link.

- Click on the button Download the archive. You must then enter your Facebook password to start the transfer.

You then recover a Zip file which contains all your photos and videos, as well as your messages, your personal information and the list of your friends. The whole thing is organized in the form of a mini website that can be opened with any browser. To do this, you must extract the contents of the Zip archive, then load the index.htm file in the browser.
