Amazon’s streaming platform embeds a number of free programs, but also offers subscription-based premium channels. Find out how to cancel them if you signed up in error and put in place protections so that the problem does not recur.
If you have subscribed to Amazon Prime to no longer pay your shipping costs on the merchant site, you are also undoubtedly benefiting from Amazon’s streaming platform, Prime Video. If its catalog is a little less well supplied than that of Netflix, the service has the merit of being integrated into an offer that you already have, and therefore does not require, a priori, any additional subscription.
But Prime Video is not limited to films, series, cartoons or documentaries available for free with the offer. The service also includes a catalog of content to rent or buy and even offers subscriptions to thematic channels. As much to say it right away, if you have children, it is better to take the initiative. Because if they have become accustomed to using the remote control of the TV on which Prime Video is accessible, you run the risk of finding yourself subscribed to a cartoon channel without realizing it. It is also most of the time when you receive an alert by e-mail that you will notice it.

And if the first month is free as part of a trial, the renewal is usually automatic. In the following lines, you will find out how to unsubscribe from these channels, and can put in place safeguards to prevent the situation from happening again.
1. Log into your account
Go to the Prime Video site from your PC web browser to sign in to your account. Click at the top right on the button showing a silhouette then on Identify yourself. Then log in using your Amazon ID and password.

2. Go to Account Settings
At the top right of the Prime Video interface, click on the name associated with your profile, then in the menu that appears, enter the Account and settings menu.

Then go to the Channel tab. The page that appears should display the list of channels to which you have subscribed. Click on Cancel subscription to end your subscription.

In the pop-up that opens, confirm your choice by clicking on Cancel subscription.

3. Activate purchase restrictions
To prevent your offspring from re-subscribing to a channel or buying content unintentionally, it is possible to activate an option to block purchases.
To do this, still in the Account and settings menu, go to the Parental control section.
Click on the Modify button displayed in the Prime Video PIN code line, define a 5-digit code and validate it by clicking on Save.

On the purchase restriction line, select the On option. From now on, all purchases initiated in Prime Video will require the entry of the PIN code to be validated, even from the mobile application.

4. Filter free content
Finally, be aware that it is possible to filter the content offered to display only those that are accessible for free as part of your Prime subscription.
From an Android smartphone or iPhone, open the app and activate the Free for me button displayed at the top right of the Prime Video interface.

From the Web desktop version of Prime Video, you will be able to explore the free catalog included in your Prime offer by hovering over the Categories menu and then clicking on Included with Amazon Prime.

Prime Video will then display a dedicated page grouping together all the programs included with your Prime subscription and viewable for free on the platform.
