How to export your favorites list in Chrome

Not happy with Chrome and want to switch to another browser? Then it is nice if you can transfer all your favorites list. We explain how you do that in this article.

By packaging your favorite web pages as an HTML file, you can easily import this data to many other browsers. You can do this quite easily by opening Chrome on your Windows PC, Mac or Chromebook and pressing the three vertical dots at the top right of the screen. Go to bookmarks and click Bookmark Manager. By the way, you also get here with the key combination Ctrl, Shift and O.

In the blue Bookmarks bar, you will again find the menu icon to the right of the search bar. Press that and choose Export bookmarks. You can then create an HTML document. The file name automatically contains the date on which the bookmark file was created. This is especially useful if you want to transfer your favorites more often.

In the same menu you will also find the option Import bookmarks, so if you just want to transfer your favorite pages from other browsers to Chrome, this is the place to be.

Transfer to Firefox

If you switch to Firefox, you can import the html file by clicking on via the hamburger menu in the browser bookmarks and then on Manage bookmarks at the bottom of the screen. Click in the toolbar of the window Library on Import and backup to transfer your bookmarks.

Transfer to Opera
