iOS makes it easy to synchronize Gmail contacts to find them on your Apple mobile device.
If you want to find your Gmail contacts on your iPhone or iPad, you don’t necessarily need to install the Google app. An option in the settings of the operating system of Apple makes it easy to perform the operation. This is particularly useful for backing up all your numbers: when you change your mobile phone, you just have to repeat this procedure to immediately find all your phone numbers.
Here’s how to do it. We performed the procedure on an iPad running iOS 11 but it is exactly the same on an iPhone:
- On the Home screen, tap the icon Settings.

- Tap on Accounts and passwords in the list on the left then on Add an account.

- In the list of services on the right, tap on Google.

- Enter your Gmail address then tap on the button Following. Repeat with the Gmail password.

- The Gmail account is then associated. Check that Contacts switch is in green. If you just want the contacts, flip the other switches to the left to turn them off. They then turn white. You can also link other Google services, such as calendar or email, of course.

- Tap on Save to validate the changes.
