You can easily add the dates of the 2018 World Cup matches in your calendar, either in full or team by team.
Football fan? In order not to miss a match of the 2018 World Cup, you can, of course, install the official FIFA application. But you can also use your Google Calendar. Yes Yes. Come on, we’ll tell you everything.
- Start by typing calendar.google.com in the address bar of your browser or access the calendar through Gmail. In this case, click on the applications icon (mosaic of small squares), then on Calendar.

Use a dynamic agenda
This method allows you to add in your diary the dates of all the matches of the World Cup. This addition is dynamic, which means that if a date is modified, it will be automatically updated.
- In the left area, click on the + button next to the mention Add a friend’s calendar, then on From URL.

- In the Calendar URL box, type (or rather copy and paste) the address webcal: //www.skysports.com/calendars/football/fixtures/competitions/world-cup then click on the mention Add Calendar.

- Then click on the arrow at the top left and go to the planning for the month of June. The dates of the meetings are then displayed and you can click on them for details.

Import data manually
The other solution is to import events into your calendar. These events are recorded in a file in ICS format. Belgian site Walfoot offers all the matches for each team in ICS files that you just have to download.

You can for example limit yourself only to the France team. However, these events are frozen and will not be automatically modified if the dates change.
- In the left area of the Google calendar, click on the + button next to the mention Add a friend’s calendar, then on Import.

- Click on Select a file on your computer and upload the ICS file you downloaded from the Walfoot site. Then click on the button Import, then on the arrow at the top left to return to the agenda.

In our example, the dates concerning the France team have been added to your calendar.

By clicking on each date, you can get details, or even delete the event.
For Android devices
Download the Google Calendar app if it is not installed. You must first use a browser and enter the webcal address indicated above on a computer, or on the mobile device, using the Google account of your Android device. The synchronization may then take a little while. The calendar then appears by going to the main menu of the Google Calendar app (three small horizontal bars), then selecting Settings and More agendas in the section with the name of your Gmail address.

What about iOS devices?
It is also possible to use the webcal address on your iPhone! To do this, go to settings and select Accounts and passwords. Tap on Add an account. If you have already performed the operations described above and you have the dates of the matches on your Google calendar, you can use your Google account and synchronize its calendar with that of iOS, but this is not mandatory. To use the webcal address directly, tap Other and on Add a cal. with subscription.

In the server box, type the address webcal: //www.skysports.com/calendars/football/fixtures/competitions/world-cup then click on Save. The match dates will then be added to your iOS Calendar.
