File Explorer has a handy batch rename feature for photos. Here is how to use it.
You come back from vacation and you have had your fill of pictures, either with your smartphone or with your digital camera. Problem, the files often have barbaric names like DSC00532.JPG, which is hardly meaningful. If you have transferred them to your Windows PC, you can rename them easily and especially in batch. To do this, simply launch the file explorer.
- Go to the folder containing the photos and click on one of them to activate the correct part of the window. Then use the key sequence
+ to select all files.

- Click with the right mouse button on the first photo, because it is from this that the numbering will start, and select Rename from the drop-down menu.

- Enter the name you want to give to your set of images and validate with the key.
.

- The photos are then all renamed with the name of the set, followed by a number in parentheses.

Convenient to know what they correspond to.
