Apple Intelligence is the new feature of iOS, but not everyone is happy with it. We tell you how to disable all AI functions on your iPhone.
How to turn off Apple Intelligence on your iPhone (and why you want to)
With iOS 26.1, a major update came to your iPhone. This introduced Apple Intelligence on Dutch iPhones (and iPads). The functions can only be used if you have an iPhone 15 Pro or newer. It is a bit more difficult to divide the iPads, but you can consult the article below to find out which tablets will have the functions. But not everyone wants those AI features…
The good news is that Apple’s AI is not enabled by default if you have iOS 26.1 installed on your iPhone, so there is no need to disable it. But if you’ve turned it on just to try (or want to make sure it’s turned off), you can follow the steps below to completely disable Apple Intelligence on your iPhone or iPad.

This is how you turn off Apple Intelligence on your iPhone or iPad:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone;
- Tap Apple Intelligence & Siri;
- Turn on the switch Apple Intelligence out.
From that moment on, all AI functions are disabled. Your iPhone uses the standard functions of iOS, without things like smart suggestions or automatic summaries.
Turn off Apple Intelligence: why?
There are several reasons why you might want to turn off Apple Intelligence on your iPhone. You may find the AI features unnecessary to create your own emojis. Or do you want to save battery life?
Some iPhone owners also prefer not to have their data analyzed for smart features (even though Apple has stated that only your own iPhone can access this data). In addition, you may prefer to keep the classic iPhone experience, without all those extra tricks.
